OMEIAT JOURNAL
One of the aims of OMEIAT was to disseminate information among our managements and the community at large. The focus of our journal has been on the following items:
- Documenting new Acts, Rules, G.O’s and other Orders being issued from time to time by the Central and State Governments as well as directives of Universities and other academic bodies, core judgements on matters of education, educational institutions and minority rights.
- Recording a digest of news and notes relevant to our causes, interests, aspirations and values.
- Helpful hints to teachers for better performance.
- Real stories which can inspire our institutions and social activists to higher levels of servicing.
- Information on currently valuable courses and careers with the expectation that the heads of institutions will at least arrange to display such information on the student’s notice boards.
Even though awareness of education is reaching the lower middle classes of Muslims to some extent, the lowest economic class which is the largest segment of the community continues to be indifferent to education.
Poorer Muslims who cannot afford to pay the fees prescribed for self-financing courses needs special attention.
The importance given by our elders to religious education and character building in Muslim schools and colleges is being given in the OMEIAT Journal.
